Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a range of diseases, disorders, and disabilities through physical manipulation, movement, therapeutic exercise and the use of specialized equipment. Physiotherapists also provide advice on how to avoid injuries. Physiotherapy is designed to improve quality of life and movement potential through prevention, treatment and intervention of a variety of conditions. This also includes habilitation and rehabilitation.

Dermoneuromdulation

DermoNeuroModulating, or -tion,

is a structured, interactive approach to manual therapy that considers the nervous system of the patient from skin cell to sense of self. Techniques are slow, light, kind, intelligent, responsive and effective. The positioning of limbs and trunk affects deeper nerve trunks (by shortening and widening their container), and is combined with skin stretch that is directed toward cutaneous fields of nerves that branch outward into skin (which may draw neural structure further through its container).
It is prudent to remember that manual handling of a patient's physicality is only a small part of development of a complete therapeutic context for change – while optional, it can also be optimal.

Functional exercise

Functional Exercise Rehab

We will often start by creating exercises that will help you with the activities you are struggling with on a daily basis. Functional exercises are based on improving how you perform normal activities throughout your day, such as sitting, getting up from your chair, bending, and walking. The aim is to make these movements easier and pain free, and to use them to increase your stamina every day so that you can progress into exercises that increase your activity levels or that are specific to your sport requirements.
As your exercise program progresses, we will increase the difficulty of each exercise as well as the number of repetitions in order to improve your functional capacity, to improve your ability to cope with the demands you wish to put onto your body every day.

Kinesio Taping

Kinesio Taping  is a technique based on the body's own natural healing process. When used on skin, the Kinesio Tape pulls the upper layers of skin, creating more space between the dermis and the muscle. The space created is believed to relieve pressure on the lymph channels in the area between the muscle and the dermis, creating more space for lymph flow and thus better lymph drainage through an affected area. This space also houses various nerve receptors that send specific information to the brain. When the space between the epidermis and the muscle is compressed, such as during an injury, these nerve receptors are compressed and send information to the brain regarding continuous touch, light touch, cold, pain, pressure, and heat. This information causes the brain to send out certain signals to the body on how to react to particular stimuli.

Kinesio Taping  alters the information that these receptors send to the brain and causes a less reactive response in the body, allowing the body to work in a more normal manner, removing some of the roadblocks that normally slow down the healing process.

Kinesio Taping  also is felt to affect deeper tissues in the body. Increased space theoretically allows muscles a greater ability, which in turn pushes more fluid through the muscle, resulting in better muscle performance.

The end results are believed to be reduced muscle fatigue and pain, increase the range of emotion, drainage and better quality of muscle contraction.

Kinesio Taping  is used for anything from headaches to foot problems and everything in between. Examples include: carpal tunnel syndrome, lower back strain/pain (subluxations, herniated disc), knee conditions, shoulder conditions, hamstring, groin injury, rotator cuff injury, whiplash, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, patella tracking, pre and postsurgical edema, ankle sprains, athletic preventative injury method €¦

Kinesio Tex Tape is a latex-free hypoallergenic cotton fiber tape.

Idiopathic Scoliosis

Idiopathic Scoliosis Treatment. Schroth Method

It was founded in 1921 by Katharina Schroth in Germany.
In Germany the Schroth Method developed into the most recognized conservative exercise-based approach for idiopathic scoliosis treatment.

Definition
Scoliosis is a series of vertebral segments placed in extension or lordosis, which deviate an axially rotate towards the same side.

Information
Scoliosis patients need to have information about the disease so that they can develop pro-active coping strategies. Such information should include a calculation of the progression risk even when it is difficult to accurately assess the risk for immature children with scoliosis <25grades Cobb.

The Schroth Method Helps:

  • Stopping Curve Progression
  • Eliminating Pain
  • Improving posture and appearance €" for lifeTreatment
Specific scoliosis treatment is individual and based on a standardized teaching in clinical/reasoning management. Main objectives are to detect typical scoliosis features, restore of normal postural alignment, static/dynamic postural control and stability. Other objectives of treatment are deceleration or prevention of progression in order to avoid the necessity of bracing and preventing form surgery.
Treatment also includes teaching scoliosis specific exercises and breathing techniques in accordance with the principles of Scroth posture variations which aim at enabling and encouraging patients to perform a home-exercise program and achieve postural changes in the activities of daily living.
Percutaneous Electrolysis

Percutaneous Electrolysis Therapy EPTE is a groundbreaking technique in the treatment of tendinopathies. The treatment with Percutaneous Electrolysis Therapy is both fast and effective, and involves minimal pain for the patient.
The treatment with Percutaneous Electrolysis Therapy includes the application of a modulated electrical current directly to the damaged soft tissue via an acupuncture needle, inducing the tissue's recovery. Percutaneous Electrolysis Therapy induces our body's own healing reaction in the treated area.
In just 48 hours, the patient will recover his/her movement range and any pain will be significantly mitigated. Thanks to EPTE ®'s high success rate, thousands of patients have find a great solution for their tendinopathies. What are the benefits of using EPTE ®?
The EPTE ® percutaneous electrolysis therapy is a technique that activates the first phase in any regenerative process which has stopped in all tendinopathies. The process of electrolysis destroys degenerated tissue and induces a natural inflammatory that is necessary for the regeneration of healthy tissue.
€¢ Painless therapy;
€¢ Fast Recovery of Tendinopathies;
€¢ Almost 100% of effectivity;
€¢ CE directives. What injuries can EPTE ® treat?
EPTE ® can be used to treat tendinopathies presenting in:
€¢ Supraspinatus tendon
€¢ Patellar tendon
€¢ Achilles tendon
€¢ Epicondyle
€¢ Plantar fascia

Trigger Point

What is Trigger Point Dry Needling (TDN)TDN is an effective therapy to treat muscular tension and spasm which commonly accompanies conditions such as arthritis, nerve irritation, muscular strain, ligament strains and herniated discs. It is called €œDry € Needling because there is no solution injected as with a hypodermic needle during a flu shot. With Dry Needling, the treatment is the needle itself as it produces great effects within the tissue. Is Trigger Point Dry Needling Acupuncture?
No, Trigger Point Dry Needling is based on Western medical research and principles, whereas acupuncture is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. The main similarity is that the same sterile, disposable solid filament needles are used. What Types of Conditions Can TDN Assist?
€¢ Neck/Back Pain
€¢ Shoulder Pain
€¢ Tennis/Golfers Elbow
€¢ Headaches
€¢ Hip and Gluteal Pain
€¢ Knee Pain
€¢ Achilles Tendonitis/Tendinosis
€¢ Plantar Fasciitis
€¢ Sciatica
€¢ Muscular Strains/Ligament Sprains
€¢ Chronic Pain
€¢ Athletic Performance/Sport InjuriesWhat can I expect after the treatment?
We are looking to experiencing improvements even from the first visit, such as an increased range of motion, ease of movement and decreased signs/symptoms.

CLINICAL PILATES

What is Clinical Pilates?
Clinical Pilates is a form of physical exercise that focuses on core stability, balance, control, strength, posture, breathing and flexibility. Joseph Pilates developed the Pilates Method in the early 20th century in Germany. After suffering from rickets, asthma and rheumatic fever he looked for a solution to his health problems through an exercise regime. He collected exercises from Yoga, Zen meditation and the rigorous exercise regimes of the ancient Greeks and Romans. He improved and trained his body with great success, becoming an exceptional athlete and teacher of movement. With Pilates, you may be able to do the same. Read More!
