Meditation

Meditation is an approach of training the mind, it is about training in awareness and getting a healthy sense of perspective. It helps an individual learn to observe thoughts or feelings without judgment and eventually they start to better understand them as well.

Meditation is an age-old mind and body practice that has a long history of use for calming the mind, improving physical relaxation, coping with illness or stress, as well as enhancing overall health and wellbeing. Meditation has endured over thousands of years, with no shortage of scientific studies confirming its effectiveness. Modern man has devised various techniques in which we could experience those states today.

Benefits of Meditation

Meditation is used with the aim of reducing stress, anxiety, depression, and pain, and increasing peace, perception, self-concept, and well-being.

Meditation is the practical method for taking control of your day, your thoughts, and your anxiety €" and is scientifically proven to do just that, and for all its benefits, meditation just takes a little bit of time, and some dedication. But sometimes it's difficult to know where to begin. Therefore we recommend taking introduction classes with our Holistic Coach Delna Mistry.

The types of Meditation offered at the Center as below:
Meditation for Beginners
Meditation for Beginners is especially designed for those who have never meditated before. The meditation facilitator introduces the concept of meditation and its benefits on the mind, body and soul. This beginner level meditation covers breathing techniques for relaxation guiding you to become aware of the body and the overall energy flow within and around you. Through this practice, individuals are also guided to bring awareness to their emotions and thoughts as they become very focused and aligned. This beginner level meditation helps you to leave the Beta state of being alert and reactive, into a state of restoration and relaxation.
Sound Meditations
The use of music for healing dates back to centuries ago. From Tibetan singing bowls to Aboriginal didgeridoos, music has been used for its therapeutic effects for thousands of years. Studies have proved that music could lower blood pressure, decrease pulse rate and assists the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for digestion and metabolic processes. Meditation with the use of Tibetan singing bowls aids in shifting the normal Beta state (alert, concentrating, reacting) to an Alpha (creative, relaxed), and even Theta (meditative state) and Delta (deep sleep; where restoring and healing can occur). Each singing bowl creates a different frequency that vibrates in the body and helps guide you to the meditative and restorative state.
Guided Meditations
Guided Meditations are a profound practice where the facilitator guides individuals to recover, heal and transform from any stresses of routine city life, and achieve a state of harmony. This intermediate level meditation takes you on a journey to balance your chakras, connect with your Divine energies, manifest what you may desire, resolve any mental-emotional conflicts and enables many such powerful experiences. These meditations would involve sound healing, mantras and/or visualization techniques for a more enriching experience.
